Fuel Injection

One way to aid the management of particulate emissions is through fuel injection. Perkins’ brand new fuel system in our Tier 4 engines has been specially developed to meet tough emissions and reliability requirements.

The more efficient the fuel injection system, the more thoroughly the fuel will be burnt, and therefore the lower the level of unburnt particulates remaining and the less ash produced. More efficient fuel injection also leads to greater fuel economy and more power delivery.

How it works

  1. Fuel is injected into the combustion chamber at extremely high pressure (2000 bar)
  2. Multi-hole injectors produce very small droplets which burn more efficiently
  3. The multi-injection cycle is electronically controlled for greater efficiency

  • Reduced emissions
  • Optimised fuel consumption
  • Greater flexibility of filter positions enabling
  • Easier service access
  • Reduced service times
  • Lower total cost of ownership
